WHAT IS POINT OF YOU?

On July 6th, Point of You, a 4-week virtual transformational photography workshop, will inspire you to interpret your emotions and reflections into imagery. You do not need any technical knowledge or special equipment to participate. From digital cameras, to film to phone cameras, you will have what you need to create beautiful images.

Within you is a vast world of creativity and unique vision, and this offering will give you the guidance and structure you need to transform your discoveries into something tangible. Through guided journal prompts, exclusive photography techniques and weekly themed photo challenges, you will explore concepts that shape the way you see the world. Taking photos will become a loving ritual of self exploration. Once weekly, we’ll gather in a virtual group call to share the photos you create, and we’ll explore the theme for the following week. During the Point of You program, we’ll cover three themes, which change each session. Last session, the themes we explored photographically were: Memories that Shape your Life, Grief and Wabi Sabi.

Each collective is limited to ten participants only, ensuring the process is personal and connecting.

Why Now?

We are amidst a time of uncertainty and change, which conjures all sorts of emotions, from the deeply difficult to the gloriously sublime. With these emotions in heart, we simultaneously confront a society with expectations of what's "appropriate" to express. Unfortunately those expectations are limiting, and shut us off from ourselves, making it more difficult to connect fully with who we are and what we stand for. This disconnect only leads to more uncomfortable emotions to repress, becoming a vicious cycle. One way or another, these feelings catch up to us. I know from personal experience.

Many of my difficult life experiences taught me to fade, to not rock the boat, leaving me shut down and disconnected from myself. When I decided instead – through photography – to let the feelings flow through me, something remarkable happened: I gained a great deal of clarity and strength, and I was flooded with renewed inspiration. It was through this practice that I began to view all feelings and as important messengers, and creating something tangible to reflect on my discoveries was incredibly empowering.

How Does It Work?

The Point of You collective will be limited to ten participants. In addition to our weekly virtual call, we will stay connected through the Point of You private Facebook page, where you will find helpful and inspirational content, as well as exclusive photography techniques to guide you as you complete your weekly challenges. In addition, I will host a virtual one-on-one 30-min photo-coaching session with each of you on the third week to guide you with step-by-step editing coaching and feedback.
