This object was the mantle centerpiece in my childhood home for as long as I can remember. My paternal-grandmother scored it at a local market for a quarter. Inside the glass door frame, there is a hand-carved name, next to the year 1933. I always felt a deep connection with this piece. As I child, I thought there was nothing more magical.

I see that you do step-by-step editing coaching, do I need to buy Photoshop or some other expensive photo-editing software to participate?

Although Photoshop and Lightroom are amazing editing applications, they are not required to participate in this workshop. There are several awesome free photo-editing apps that you can download and use, and I will provide guidance on which ones they are, and will guide you through processing your work. If you are interested in learning a little about Photoshop or Lightroom, you can go to the Adobe website and subscribe for monthly use.

Do I have to participate in the weekly Zoom calls?

You aren’t required to attend, however, it is strongly encouraged. I’m limiting the group to ten participants, and part of the reason is to encourage the group to connect, support each other and share feedback and reflections with one another.

Do I have to share my photos?

No one is required to share their work. It is encouraged so that the group can learn from and inspire one another, however, I understand that some people will be exploring topics and emotions that are deeply personal, and may not feel comfortable sharing with the group, and that is totally ok. Even if you don’t share your own work with the group, you are encouraged to participate in the weekly calls to support others when they share.

I’d love to gift this experience to someone, how do I do that?

I am happy to help you gift a loved one with this experience. Either reach out to me via the contact form, or purchase the gift card by clicking here. I will send you a custom digital gift-certificate that you can present to your loved one.

I don’t have Facebook, does that mean I can’t participate?

Participants will have access to a private Facebook page where I will regularly share valuable information related to the project. In addition, it’s a great way to connect with the other people who are participating in the workshop. However, if you do not have Facebook, I will make sure that you see the content that is posted.

I don’t know anything about photography. I have a new camera but it’s still in the box. I don’t think I can do it.

This is not a technical photography workshop. Modern technology has made it so anyone can take a photo, especially if you take advantage of the “auto” mode. This is an experience that is about embracing creativity and self-discovery through photography; in other words, the “rules” aren’t important. You don’t need advanced camera knowledge to be a part of this experience.

What if I sign up and then can no longer participate?

Because this is a group experience by design and I am limiting it to ten participants only, once a spot is “reserved”, I will no longer offer it to anyone else. For this reason, once the enrollment fee is received, that spot is filled and the fee is nonrefundable. A spot may be transferred to someone else.

What does this workshop include?

This transformational photography experience is one of a kind. Your enrollment includes the weekly zoom call (4 total, 90 mins each), where we will explore a different theme each week, we’ll explore imagery and dissect the detail, and explore the emotional connotations that arise when seeing a photo and why. Each week, you will be given a photography challenge related to the weekly theme, and you will be encouraged to share your photos with the collective for feedback and group reflection. In addition, you will receive themed journal prompts to help crystalize your detailed vision for your photography projects. Midway through the workshop, I will host a 30-minute one-on-one photo editing coaching session (virtually) providing step-by-step photo-editing instruction. Best of all, you will gain a new group of friends within the collective, who you will be able to connect with easily via our Facebook group page.
