The vision for Point of You was ignited when I began my own healing journey a few years ago. Prior to facing my own repressed emotions, I struggled for years to draft a bio for the “about me” page of my photography website. I felt incredible pressure to be clear and definitive about who I am, and yet I found the task paralyzing. After years of shutting down emotionally, I had lost myself somewhere along the way.

Many of my difficult life experiences taught me to be silent, to not rock the boat, in order to “survive”. I believed that the strong ones don’t allow themselves to be vulnerable. So much of what defined me as a person was painful, and I had no desire to remember. As I struggled to articulate who I am, it became increasingly clear that I could not step into my full expression until I metabolized all of the stories that were still living inside of me.

As a professional photographer for ten years, photography is one of my greatest loves. I have found that tapping into my creative passions and harnessing them as inspirational fuel has been a powerful tool for healing. I began to feel a call to capture what was coming up for me emotionally, as I couldn’t quite yet express it verbally. The resulting images conveyed what I couldn’t say. It was deeply cathartic to simply create for creation’s sake, and this practice became a sacred ritual of exploration.

I’m passionate about connection and cultivating self-discovery through creativity. This process is about letting go of all the “rules” of how to take a photograph. This is about tapping into what you already know, and embracing what you discover. Point of You invites you show yourself love, acceptance and deep reverence. This process will give you the tools and support you’ve always needed to step into your unique brand of creative magic.
